Orange Pepper Chicken with Stir Fry Vegetables and Rice

Orange Pepper Chicken – Sticky Citrus Chicken with a Scratch Made Orange Pepper Pan Sauce

Stovetop
1.    Place thighs in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
2.    Add a splash of broth or water and cover with a lid.
3.    Heat for 6–8 minutes, flipping once, until warmed through.

Reducing the Orange Pepper Sauce

To Thicken and Intensify Flavor:
1.    Pour sauce into a small saucepan.
2.    Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
3.    Let simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 5–10 minutes or until it thickens and coats a spoon.
4.    Optional: Add a small knob of butter for silkiness or a splash of orange juice/zest to brighten.

Stir Fry Vegetables

1.    Heat a large cast iron skillet or pan over high heat until smoking slightly.
2.    Add veggies in a single layer. Let it cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes.
3.    Flip and continue cooking another 4–5 minutes, until crisp-tender and charred.

Reheating Rice

Stovetop
1.    Place rice in a small saucepan or skillet.
2.    Add 1–2 tablespoons of water or broth per cup of rice.
3.    Cover and heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes.

Microwave
1.    Place rice in a microwave-safe bowl. Sprinkle with water.
2.    Cover with a damp paper towel.
3.    Microwave on medium power for 1–2 minutes, fluffing halfway through.
